Wild blueberry hot chocolate
Developed in collaboration with Stéphanie Côté, RD, for wild blueberry growers.
Ingredients
- 310 ml (1 1/4 cups) milk
- 30 ml (2 tablespoons) cocoa powder
- 5 ml (1 tsp.) maple syrup
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) frozen wild blueberries
- 5 ml (1/2 tsp.) vanilla extract
- A few mini marshmallows for garnish (optional)
Preparation
- Heat 60 ml (1/4 cup) milk in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Add cocoa and whisk until thickened.
- Add remaining milk, maple syrup and wild blueberries. Heat until starting to boil, but no more. Add vanilla.
- Blend with a stand mixer or other type of electric mixer until smooth and frothy.
- Pour into a glass and garnish with marshmallows, if desired.
- Note: strain hot chocolate if you prefer it smooth.
