Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups wild blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1.5 tablespoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup (if needed)

Preparation

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the wild blueberries, stirring occasionally, until they begin to break down and bubble (about 5 minutes). Use a spoon or potato masher to mash them to your desired consistency.
  2. Stir in the chia seeds and lemon juice until well combined. Taste the jam and add maple syrup if additional sweetness is needed.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. The jam will thicken naturally as the chia seeds absorb liquid.
  4. Give the jam one final stir, then transfer it to a sealed jar.
