Wild Blueberry Chia Seed Jam
By Veronica Rouse, RD, theheartdietitian.com
A heart-healthy, antioxidant-packed jam. Perfect for spreading on toast, swirling into yogurt, or topping pancakes.

Ingredients
- 2.5 cups wild blueberries (fresh or frozen)
- 1.5 tablespoons chia seeds
- 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons maple syrup (if needed)
Preparation
- In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, cook the wild blueberries, stirring occasionally, until they begin to break down and bubble (about 5 minutes). Use a spoon or potato masher to mash them to your desired consistency.
- Stir in the chia seeds and lemon juice until well combined. Taste the jam and add maple syrup if additional sweetness is needed.
- Remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes. The jam will thicken naturally as the chia seeds absorb liquid.
- Give the jam one final stir, then transfer it to a sealed jar.
